When I decided to enter the county fair this year, I knew I had to come up with something fun and unique. As is my style, I went with a repeating pattern that was fun and textured. I hope you enjoy!

What you need:
3 balls of worsted weight yarn. I used WeCrochet Brava for this
5.00mm H hook
Tapestry Needle
Faux Fur Pom Pom (optional)

Stitches to know:
ex-puff - Extended Puff Stitch. Yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull up a loop. Pull through all but the last two loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through the two loops.
hbhdc - Herringbone Half Double Crochet. Yarn over, insert hook into next stitch and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Pull first loop straight through the second (similar to a slip stitch). Yarn over, pull through two remaining loops on hook.
Third loop - Working in the third loop of a previous hdc
fpdc - Front Post Double Crochet
sc - Single Crochet
dc - Double Crochet
ch - Chain
hdc - Half Double Crochet
sl st - Slip Stich
Optional: Foundation Double Crochet
